Cleanings and Exams

Floss, brush wash.jpg

Your toothbrush, dental floss and mouthwash are the most important tools you have at home to promote a healthy smile. While they are effective, they are not enough to keep your teeth and gums healthy. You must also see your dentist twice a year for a cleaning and checkup. We offer complete preventive dentistry to foster a healthy, beautiful smile that will last for a lifetime

Comprehensive cleaning

It is recommended that you brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes and floss every night before going to bed. Although this is effective for removing food particles, plaque, and bacteria, there are still areas in your mouth where you cannot clean well at home. As a result, tartar will begin to accumulate in the hard-to-reach places, increasing your risk of tooth decay and gum disease.

To remove the buildup, you need a professional dental cleaning. Our friendly dental hygienist uses special tools to clean and polish your teeth. With a focus on delivering individualized care, we will take the time to discuss your oral hygiene habits. We will suggest how you can improve your efforts at home to keep your smile healthy in between your semi-annual appointments.

Complete checkup

The foundation of dental care relies on prevention to reduce the risk of an issue developing in the future. With a checkup every 6 months, your dentist can monitor your oral health. This allows for early detection to treat problems while they are still small, like weakened enamel or gingivitis. With quick intervention, your dental health will be restored to prevent the need for a costly or invasive treatment in the future.

During your checkup, a visual examination is performed, and digital x-rays are taken. This provides us with a complete picture of your mouth, even areas that cannot be seen by the naked eye. Not only are the health of your teeth and gums evaluated but all your oral tissues, your neck, and your jaw.

More than just teeth

We will also look for areas of concern that can impact your general health, such as gum disease or oral cancer. We will check for any issues in your mouth that may indicate an untreated medical problem as well, like acid reflux.

With this information, a customized treatment plan will be created to help you reach and maintain optimal oral health and well-being. We will take the time to discuss your treatment, answer your questions, and address your concerns to help you feel at ease about your dental decisions.

We strive to build a long-lasting relationship with you while maintaining clinical excellence to ensure that your teeth and gums stay healthy.
